Dedicated Funds

Tailor-made projects that respond to specific topics of interest
Dedicated Acquisition Funds

Some themes of interest to the collections require a more qualified action in terms of both form and content. The Amis and its partner patrons are therefore developing dedicated Acquisition Funds in response to a specific need.

The active Acquisition Funds of the Amis du Centre Pompidou

ARTIS FUND

To enhance the visibility of the Israeli art scene within the museum's collections.
Since 2021, the Artis Fund has participated in expanding the modern and contemporary collections of the Mnam with works by artists from Israel. Supported by a research program, this fund has financed the acquisition of works by artists such as Chen Cohen, Dani Gal, Moshe Gershuni, Dor Guez, Michal Heiman, Ella Littwitz, Joshua Neustein, Ruth Patir, Tom Pnini, Naama Tsabar, Miki Kratsman and Sharon Ya’ari, with pieces joining the collections for the first time.

BONPOINT FUND

To support the acquisition of children's furniture and games.
With the creation of the Bonpoint Acquisition Fund to showcase children’s furniture, we were able, over a three-year period, to expand the largest collection of design objects for children, consisting of some 130 works from the early 20th century to the present day—more than half of which were acquired through support from the Amis. Far more than mere miniature versions of adult furniture, children’s furniture has been the focus of multiple innovations, while embodying specific features: it’s fun, multifunctional, modular, and tells a narrative based on play. An exhibition will be held at the Centre Pompidou in 2024 to present this unique collection, followed by other exhibitions in France and abroad.

JOSEPH DUCLOS FUND

To support the acquisition of artworks using light as a medium.
The goal of the Joseph Duclos Acquisition Fund is to build the modern and contemporary collections of the Mnam with works celebrating light as a medium and full-fledged form of artistic expression. Through its support, the museum acquired an exceptional piece in 2022, Red Line, one of the very first neon works, created in 1969 by the conceptual artist Maurizio Nannucci. Red Line will be exhibited as part of the museum’s permanent collection starting in April 2024, thereby taking its place as one of the most important works of 20th-century conceptual art. It is historic! In 2025, the first anthology about light as a medium in art will be published thanks to this fund.
