Join us at the first Dîner des Amis co-chaired by The Amis du Centre Pompidou
and The American Friends of the Centre Pompidou.
The American Friends of the Centre Pompidou is the legacy of the Beaubourg Foundation,
founded by Dominique de Ménil in 1977, the same year that the Centre Pompidou first opened its doors.
The Amis du Centre Pompidou wish to recognize the American Friends of the Centre Pompidou for their pivotal and continuous support of the enrichment of the national collections.
"Who wouldn't dream of dining with Henri Matisse, Barnett Newman or Marcia Hafif and conversing with contemporary artists? Since 2003, the Amis du Centre Pompidou have organised elegant dinners, welcoming their members and guests to the heart of the Museum". - Emmanuelle Lequeux, Beaux Arts Magazine
Every year, over 950 enthusiasts, collectors, curators, artists, gallerists, foundations, cultural actors and major actors from the art world come from all over the globe for this not-to-be-missed event. Every year, thanks to the Dîner des Amis, remarkable works enter the national collection, including those by Francis Alÿs, Giulia Andreani, Daniel Buren, André Cadere, Mary Corse, Simone Fattal, Eileen Gray, Pierre Huyghe, Anish Kapoor, ORLAN, Man Ray, Anri Sala, Raymond Saunders, Mildred Thompson, Wolfgang Tillmans, Kara Walker, and Chen Zhen…
to celebrate the centenary of Surrealism and in preparation for the exceptional exhibition Surréalisme, which will open at the Museum in September 2024.
To mark the occasion, the book Amis-120 ans avec le Musée national d'art moderne, which traces the shared history of the Museum and the Friends, is published.
