Born in 1962, Luc Delahaye is a war photojournalist from the 1990s and a former member of Magnum. He has redefined the link between documentary and artistic photography. After publishing his images in the press and books, he turned to large-format gallery exhibitions in the 2000s, while maintaining his documentary roots. His color photographs, often large in size, capture the chaos of the contemporary world, from the wars in Iraq and Ukraine to international conferences. Some images are taken on the spot, others are digitally composed from fragments. Delahaye seeks to show reality without demonstrating it, in a contemplative approach. This Parisian retrospective, his first since 2006, presents some forty large-format works, a video, and several new installations.
