Dorothea Rockburne
Ceysson & Bénétière - 75004
Dorothea Rockburne is a leading figure in American contemporary art since the 1960s. Conceived in close collaboration with the artist’s New York studio, this presentation brings together recent works in a breadth of materials, testifying to the artist’s versatility and singular dialogue between mathematics and spirituality. The Amis invite you to see this exhibition before it closes.

Frau am Tisch mit Früchten
Max Hetzler - 75004
André Butzer envisions things astutely and in earnest with shocking clarity: table, fruit, woman. In four monumental paintings, created for the main hall of the gallery, he intertwines them in a planarly whole: Frau am Tisch mit Früchten. With each painting, Butzer leads us onto the same threshold. A red plane, hemmed in by the white of the canvas, opens up an enormous interior space within the image. The abundant red hue does not only constitute the surrounding ambient colour, it is the site of the painting itself. Butzer merges all spatial properties in total flatness. The entire image is a colour field, a room, a wall, a floor, a tableau, a table and even a tablecloth.

Udomsak Krisanamis, Toi et moi
Chantal Crousel - 75003
Toi et moi is Udomsak Krisanamis’ first solo exhibition in France. After living and exhibiting in the United States and Europe, the artist immersed himself in these cultures before returning to Thailand, where he now lives and works. Since the late 1990s, his aesthetic has been both abstract and infused with popular references, exploring a form of visual and emotional attraction.

Jose Dávila, Half Empty, Half Full
Almine Rech - 75003
Half Empty, Half Full is Jose Dávila’s first solo exhibition with the gallery. It is is about measure, with its title, ‘Half Empty, Half Full,’ embodying an irresolvable statement making it possible for two opposites to coexist. Indeed, ambiguity infuses all of the artist’s work, which is entirely concerned with tensions and imbalances, as his oeuvre is constructed around the idea of gravity.

Antonio Oba, Festim da alma
Mendes Wood DM - 75004
Festim da alma [Feast of the soul] presents a reading of the cyclical nature of life, punctuated by celebrations and rites. The paintings and drawings on view demarcate the apexes of a journey that will find a place in the bodies and figures of children, women, and men, in both real and imagined existences.
