The Amis invite you to discover a solo exhibition by the emblematic and daring artist Suzanne Valadon. On the fringes of the dominant trends of her time, cubism and abstract art, Suzanne Valadon ardently defended the need to paint reality. She placed the nude, both female and male, at the centre of her work, representing the body without artifice or voyeurism. From her beginnings as the favourite model of the whole of Montmartre to her early artistic recognition by her peers and critics, Suzanne Valadon embraced the Parisian fervour of the turn of the century, its cafes, its bals musettes and cabarets, with an artistic and intellectual approach that revealed the changes in society.
