The Amis invite you to attend the dress rehearsal of the ballet The Exterminating Angel. After The Dante Project, the Opéra national de Paris continues to explore the music of contemporary composer Thomas Adès with The Exterminating Angel. Inspired by Luis Buñuel's 1962 surrealist film, which delivered a scathing critique of the bourgeoisie, the work opens with a dinner party of high society friends in a plush mansion after an opera performance. Gradually, however, a mysterious force prevents the fifteen guests from leaving the reception. During this confinement for no apparent reason, stretching over several days, the veneer of propriety cracks, revealing the worst of human nature.

In the apartment of Léonce Rosenberg. De Chirico, Ernst, Léger, Picabia... offers an unprecedented dive into the heart of the living space designed between 1928 and 1929 by art dealer and patron Léonce Rosenberg, at 75 rue Longchamp in Paris. Combining paintings by major artists of the inter-war period with a selection of antique and modern furniture, its layout reflected a free and modern conception of the decorative arts. Reunited for the first time in this exhibition at the Musée Picasso-Paris, some of the paintings and sculptures conceived for this extraordinary place find their overall coherence.

In Atassi's paintings, the curtain is open, yet the dancers are motionless. Time has stopped. The curtain opens not to the spectacle of choreography, but to a spectacle of forms. A form among other forms, the figure seems no more than an element in an authentic still life. The same spectator is invited to enter Ulla von Brandenburg's environments, and to walk through the color and monumental fabric paintings that the artist majestically deploys in space. "La société des spectacles" reflects on the use of the stage, spectacle and artifice, and all the ambiguities this raises in artistic practices that are very different, but both rooted in a modernist heritage.
