The exhibition brings together a group of works that entered the collection in 2022 thanks to the generosity of Bella and Meret Meyer. One hundred and twenty-seven drawings, five ceramics and seven sculptures by Marc Chagall have been donated and are organized around three themes: preparatory drawings for the costumes and stage curtains for Igor Stravinsky's ballet L'Oiseau de feu, sketches and models for the decoration of the Opéra ceiling commissioned from the artist in 1962, and a group of ceramics, collages and sculptures produced between 1950 and 1970. Representative of Marc Chagall's activity after the Second World War, these mature works testify to his investment in numerous commissioned projects and the diversification of his practice.
