Sophie Calle, It's up to you, darling

Alternately described as a conceptual artist, photographer, video artist and even detective, Sophie Calle has developed an instantly recognizable practice, combining text and photography to nourish a narrative all her own. Her works form a vast system of echoes and internal references, connected to each other like chapters in a global oeuvre in which Sophie Calle blurs the boundaries between the intimate and the public, reality and fiction, art and life. As part of the Picasso Celebration 1973-2023, Calle has been given carte blanche to take over the Hôtel Salé and deploy her universe in dialogue with the artist.
