Talk : Contrarier la perte with artist Agnès Geoffray

Why preserve? A work, a relic, a memory, a document. If Victor Hugo wrote about a shipwrecked man, "the body is lost in the water, the name in the memory, the time that casts a darker shadow on every shadow, on the dark ocean, casts dark oblivion", why try to fight against this entropy? Why "counteract loss", as Agnès Geoffray puts it, and with what means? The artist engages in this struggle with those of plastic creation, and more particularly photographic creation, questioning what is contemporary, in its relationship to dephasing and anachronism.
