Contemporary art is characterised by a mixture of styles, methods, materials and concepts. No single ideology completely sums up today's art, which is devoid of rules. We now live in a world of images and photography, so ubiquitous, is no longer experienced as a technique, but rather as an extension of our gaze. What can a contemporary artist who works with this medium do? It is from this questioning that the Parcours Saint-Germain and Photo Days have decided to join forces. The selected works suggest a kind of genetic mutation of photography, which frees itself from its nature to become a hybrid form, a mixture of the most varied modes of artistic expression. From 18 to 29 October 2022, this exhibition highlights artists who reinvent photography by imagining a new language for it, giving rise to totally unexpected results.
