In the 1960s, Christo and Jeanne-Claude started conceiving temporary artworks in public spaces. They wrapped numerous buildings such as the pont-neuf in Paris or the Reichstag in Berlin, but their true dream was the wrap the Arc the Triomphe. It will be done 60 years later.
For 16 days, from the 18th September to the 3rd October 2021, the arc the triomphe will be wrappes in 25 000 square meters of recyclable fabric, made in bluish-silver polyprolylene and with 3 000 meters of rcyclable rope in red polypropylene.
