For its reopening, the Musée de la chasse et de la nature welcomes Damien Deroubaix, a, important figure of french contemporary art scene, for a temporary exhibition : « La valise d’Orphée ».
The artists invites the viewer on a trip to a sacred and magical world. He transforms an exhibition room into a primitive grotto, decorated with paintings, woodblock prints and sculptures, where 3000 zoomorphic figurines are aligned, modelled from different materials and often a few centuries old. This collection is a testimony to cultures that have since then disappeared and where animals had a much more important role than today. The artist denounces humanity’s cruelty and its menace to the survival of our planet.
