Saul Steinberg is an American artist of Romanian origin. He moved to the United States in the 1940s and drew more than 1,200 pictures for the renowned magazine The New Yorker, including over 80 covers. His sketches are eccentric, sometimes reminiscent of Dadaism. Saul Steinberg participated in numerous exhibitions, including several at the Betty Parsons Gallery, the heart of the abstract expressionist movement.

Paul Nelson is an American-born architect. In 1920, he began studying architecture at the École des beaux-arts in Paris. His work constitutes one of the most significant research projects of the 20th century on the aesthetics of modern space and the notion of comfort and well-being in architecture. He carried out many emblematic projects such as the Maison suspendue (Hanging House) and the Saint-Lô hospital, developing a functional and humanistic conception of space.
