Le Paris de Dufy

The collective memory recalls Raoul Dufy (1877-1953) for his dexterity of line, the balance of his compositions, his talent as a colorist, his sense of synthesis and his monumental Fée Electricité; and in the writings of the critics, to characterise his work, the words of charm, distinction, lightness, elegance and freshness have imposed themselves on the shared sensibility. The exhibition «Dufy’s Paris» presented by the Musée de Montmartre aims to show and study the choice of the theme of Paris as a motif in the artist’s work: a subject which, despite the numerous exhibitions dedicated to Raoul Dufy, has never been dealt with until now.
