This exhibition embraces more than 150 years of black and white photography through the work of major photographers such as Man Ray, Diane Arbus or Daido Moriyama. It focuses on the theme from an aesthetic, formal and sensitive angle. Taken from the BnF’s photographic collections, the selection of images focuses on photographers who have concentrated and systematized their artistic creation in black and white, experimented with its possibilities and limits, and sometimes even made the very subject of their
photography.
