Paris Photo, the leading international fair dedicated to photography and image-based art returns to the Grand Palais for its 28th edition. This year, the fair will be bringing together 183 galleries and 40 publishers from 33 countries, with 59 who are participating for the first time. From historical works to AI-generated images, photo books to large-scale installation, Paris Photo 2025 reflects the medium’s expanding boundaries.

Berthe Weill was one of the first gallery owners to believe in modern art and its most daring artists. Long before Picasso, Modigliani or Braque became famous, she opened her gallery to give them a chance, playing an essential role in the birth of cubism and the avant-gardes. Despite financial difficulties, her passion and instinct enabled her to support talents who would go on to leave their mark on art history. Berthe Weill remains a major figure today, symbolising an uncompromising commitment to artistic innovation.

This exhibition is part of a series that began in 2023 with Modigliani, a painter and his dealer, exploring the mechanisms of the art market and the key players in the twentieth-century avant-garde.
