Les Amis invite you to discover Marion Verboom's studio and her world of sculpture. Marion combines respect and inventiveness, drawing inspiration from history. The artist approaches construction as a challenge, a means of glorifying the human condition through structures such as megaliths, pyramids and cathedrals. Marion works side by side with craftsmen, valuing skills that reinvent codes. She is particularly fond of rocaille, a mason's art of creating beautiful shapes in mortar. At ease with raw materials, Marion also uses terms related to motherhood to describe her creative process, speaking of nuclei, matrices and gestation. The earth she shapes is fertile and she works with passion.
