The exhibition ‘Les Flocons de l'été (sur tout ton corps sont tatouées des perles d'or)’ takes us on a journey with no beginning or end, accompanied by a soundtrack that stretches from an infinite summer's day to a suspended winter's night. Twelve emerging artists living in Marseille, Paris and their suburbs explore in unique ways the ordinary lives of the eternal adolescents of the years 2000 to 2020. In the heart of standardised, interchangeable urban suburbs, these disaffected young people spend their time in a fragmented way, glued to liquid crystal screens, smartphone applications, video games and Netflix programmes, or in streets and parks that have been all but abandoned or neglected. The films of David Lynch and Harmony Korine and the photographs of Larry Clark, Ed Templeton and Ari Marcopoulos are regular references, as is the work of David Hockney.
