Boris Chouvellon wanders and surveys the landscape of abandoned suburban areas, looking for monuments that symbolise a vanished utopia. The artist then uses fragments of these abandoned architectures in his sculptures. Her works take the form of constructions in which the artist attempts to restore a ‘lost urbanity’ through gestures charged with domestic significance. His artistic approach reveals a concern and a desire to resist: it's a question of fighting against the ‘inhuman’. The artist reveals a banal and ordinary cruelty, a fatal outcome, and highlights the beauty of shipwreck.
