The Foundation, in collaboration with the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York, and the SMK - Statens Museum for Kunst, Copenhagen (National Museum of Danish Art), is hosting the exhibition "Matisse, L'Atelier rouge", devoted to the genesis and history of this famous 1911 masterpiece, one of MoMA's signature works since its acquisition in 1949. In it, the artist depicts his studio and the paintings, sculptures and decorative objects it contains. The exhibition brings together for the first time the works in L'Atelier rouge since they left Matisse's studio in Issy-les-Moulineaux. It is enriched by previously unpublished archive documents and works that shed light on the context of creation and the adventure of this painting.
