Continuing an anthropological and social photographic project initiated in 2016 in Cuba and which he will pursue in 2024 in Israel, Pierre-Elie de Pibrac criss-crossed Japan between December 2019 and August 2020 to produce the Hakanai Sonzai series. In the course of this immersive investigation, the artist met with individuals seeking to express the singularity of a personal story through their participation in the photographer's project: yakuzas, Fukushima survivors, hikikomori or "evaporates" who have opted for voluntary disappearance...

The Petit Palais welcomes Loris Gréaud's exhibition "Les Nuits Corticales", the artist's most ambitious exhibition in France since his dual project at the Louvre and Centre Pompidou in 2013. It was with the election of Barack Obama in 2008 that Kehinde Wiley began to consider the question of presidential leadership. In 2012, the American artist, whose work reinterprets representations of power and prestige in the history of portrait painting, imagined an original series dedicated to African heads of state. Over the next ten years, he traveled the continent to meet them. With each of them, he explores the history of aristocratic, royal and military portraiture in 17th-, 18th- and 19th-century Europe, to create a composition that illustrates each leader's singular view of what it means to be a contemporary African leader.
