"Moviment" invites the public to experience a concentrate of the Centre Pompidou's utopia: the visual arts mingle with cinema, performance, music, speech... In the same constantly changing space, works from the collection, encounters, screenings, workshops, shows and performances are presented side by side. Since 1977, the Centre Pompidou's ambition has been to bring together all the ways of encountering creation, understanding it, and taking part in it, in the dream of a monument in motion: a "moviment".

By featuring numerous works from its collections, the Centre Pompidou highlights the artistic contribution to the struggles waged against the LGBTQIA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, intersex, asexual, +) communities since the beginning of the 20th century. More than five hundred works and documents are brought together to show how the involvement of artists at the time transformed representations of so-called "minority" sexualities, and accompanied this emancipation movement, in both its clandestine and openly militant forms.
