Yüksel Arslan is an very singular artist of the greatest interest. To name his works and affirm their specificity, he invented the word "arture". An "arture" is a composition drawn in ink and pencil, enhanced with natural pigments in dominant ochre and bistre. It sometimes includes collages. But more often than not, it is almost as much written as it is drawn, because the "artures" as a whole form an encyclopaedia that does not neglect any science - anatomy, geology, botany, archaeology, political history, art history, etc. - nor any particularity of the subject. It is an encyclopaedia that does not neglect any science - anatomy, geology, botany, archaeology, political history, history of art, etc. - nor any particularity of the human species, its morals and its vices.
