Yüksel Arslan is an very singular artist of the greatest interest. To name his works and affirm their specificity, he invented the word "arture". An "arture" is a composition drawn in ink and pencil, enhanced with natural pigments in dominant ochre and bistre. It sometimes includes collages. But more often than not, it is almost as much written as it is drawn, because the "artures" as a whole form an encyclopaedia that does not neglect any science - anatomy, geology, botany, archaeology, political history, art history, etc. - nor any particularity of the subject. In his canvases painted "with his fingertips", Fabrice Hyber shows the deployment of a free and living thought. Bringing together some sixty canvases, including nearly fifteen works produced specifically for the exhibition, the artist creates a school within the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain that is open to all hypotheses. Visitors are invited to walk through different classrooms along a path that follows the twists and turns of the artist's thinking.
