The Monet - Mitchell exhibitions present a unique dialogue between the works of two exceptional artists, Claude Monet (1840-1926) and Joan Mitchell (1925-1992). They show their singular perceptions of the same composite landscape, often expressed in particularly immersive formats. For the latter Monet, in the case of the Water Lilies, it is a restitution of motifs observed at length in front of the water lilies in Giverny; for Joan Mitchell, in her studio in Vétheuil, she explores the transposition, through the filter of memory, of "feelings" - those perceptions that remain vivid beyond space and time.
