The aim of this colloquium is to explore the relationships at work between Louise Bourgeois and Alina Szapocznikow and, in so doing, to question the dynamics of creation by women artists in production and exhibition spaces during the 1960s and 1970s with regard to their interactions with the social problems of the memorial process.

On November 13, 1872, Claude Monet painted from the window of his hotel in Le Havre, a view of the harbor invaded by the fog. Exhibited two years later under the title « Impression, soleil levant » (1872, Paris, Musée Marmottan Monet), the work inspired the critic Louis Leroy to coin the term "Impressionists" and gave its name to the group formed by Monet and his friends.
In 2022, the Marmottan Monet Museum celebrates the 150th anniversary of the jewel of its collections, and pays tribute to it through the exhibition « Face au Soleil, un astre dans les arts ».
