Chia Wei-Hsu creates sensitive visual narratives around geographical, historical and cultural regions of Asia in his films. He is interested in the forgotten histories of the Cold War in Asia. With acute sensitivity, his work combines reality and illusion, past and present, through a circuit of events in the off-screen of people, and places that are also off-screen of history.

Crossing the periods of abstraction, Pop Art, minimal and conceptual art, the American artist Alice Neel (1900-1984) has always remained against the current of the avant-garde and faithful to a very personal figuration.
The retrospective devoted to the artist by the Centre Pompidou proposes to rediscover her work through two major themes: the class struggle and the gender struggle. It highlights the political and social commitment of an artist for whom the act of painting is fundamentally a search for truth.
