Les amis invite you to meet Roxane Ilias, winner of the Mission Recherche 2022 grant. Following the exhibition Elles font l'abstraction organised at the Centre Pompidou and the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao in 2021-2022, it appears that the post-war context, during which the French art scene welcomed many foreign artists, has not yet been carefully analysed. Among them, the American painter of Cuban origin Carmen Herrera, who lived in Paris between 1948 and 1954, offers an artistic journey highlighting a broader history of abstraction and the globalized Parisian scene. This meeting will be followed by a visit of the permanent collections with the researcher.
