The contemporary body is often thought of in binary terms: masculine or feminine, martial or vulnerable, powerful or miserable. The work of Alexandra Bircken (born in 1967), which develops in the field of art, and that of Lutz Huelle (born in 1966) in the field of fashion, propose other representations, which invert or even implode the binarities. They question, each in their own way, the archetypes, the hybridizations, the hybridities and the mutations.
