Encounter with Ma Desheng

In turn poet, engraver, calligrapher, painter or performer, Ma Desheng embodies for all a model of combativity and creativity. Born in Beijing in 1952, he is one of the first contemporary Chinese artists to have liberated Chinese art from Maoist propaganda. He dedicated his life to Art by forming the group of Stars of which he will be one of the major pillars of this intelligentsia, alongside Wang Keping and Huang Rui.
