In Marcel Duchamp's original 1947 work, a foam rubber breast under glass is bordered by the text "Prière de toucher" (Please touch) as a title. By inviting us to perform a materially impossible and virtually forbidden act, he draws attention to the ambiguities of the work of art. As part of a project to restore the museum's rubbers, financed by the Michelin Foundation at the initiative of the Friends, Lucille Royan and Juliette Dignat will study the effects of time on this work in order to restore it. They will present to the Friends the progress of their research and describe the measures they wish to adopt.
