On January 22, 2002, Yves Saint Laurent retired from haute couture after a final retrospective show at the Centre Pompidou. This choice underlined his attachment to modern and contemporary art which, since his collection in "homage to Piet Mondrian" in 1965, has been a constant source of inspiration for him. On this occasion, more than 2000 guests gathered in the Forum of the Centre Pompidou to see the designer's fetish models wearing his most iconic models to celebrate forty years of career. Friends invite you to a preview of the designer's latest fashion show.

This exhibition celebrates the 60th anniversary of Yves Saint Laurent's first fashion show, held on January 29, 1962. This anniversary exhibition, which has never been shown before, will be displayed in five Parisian museums. At the Centre Pompidou, the exhibition approaches the work of Yves Saint Laurent as that of an artist deeply rooted in his time, witnessing the evolution of artistic creation in the 20th century.
