« Georg Baselitz - The Retrospective » is the first in-depth exhibition of the German artist at the Centre Pompidou. Unclassifiable, oscillating between figuration, abstraction and conceptual approach, Georg Baselitz claims to paint images that have not yet existed and to exhume what has been rejected in the past. This exhibition covers six decades of creation, from the first paintings from 1956 to the most recent works, including the famous Fractured Compositions with reversed motifs from 1969.
