Sébastien Lifshitz

Winner of the 2012 César award for Best Documentary with his movie “Les Invisibles”, Sébastien Lifshitz has been collecting amateur photographs since his childhood. After “Under Cover”, a secret history of cross-dressers, in 2016, he now presents the exhibition The “Endless inventory” comprising over 400 amateur images from his collection. Conceived as a subjective anthology of amateur photography, with this project Sébastien Lifshitz reveals an intimate part of his artistic education in a dialogue between his movies and an array of photographs found at flea markets, garage sales or on the Internet.
