This exhibition deals with the situation of refugees living in a camp on the outskirts of Calais, known as the “jungle”, before its dismantling in October 2016. Through three approaches, that of the artist Bruno Serralongue and his documentary project Calais (2006-2018), the clichés of Agence France-Presse disseminated by the media and finally the testimonies of former inhabitants, the exhibition explores the different functions, roles and status of the image and reaffirms to what extent the Centre Pompidou is also a social and political place.
